Ingredient Facts and History

Shea Butter
The harvesting of Shea butter dates back
to over five thousand years ago. The Shea tree grows naturally in the wild in the dry savannah belt of West Africa. Traditionally, in its unrefined
form, it has been used as a decongestant, an anti-inflammatory for sprains and arthritis, and as a lotion for hair
and skin care. It is primarily used to restore skin's natural elasticity, and to
enable skin to absorb moisture from the air. Users of unrefined shea butter notice softer, smoother, healthier
skin. It has also been shown to help with skin conditions and ailments such as extreme dry skin, eczema, dermatitis, wrinkles,
stretch marks, scars, scrapes, burns, rashes,
blemishes, dark spots and discolorations, skin allergies, acne, chapped
lips, and in lessening the irritation of psoriasis. Shea butter provides an effective barrier against damage caused to skin by sun, wind and
cold weather.
Olive Oil
Olive oil was discovered more than five thousand years ago by the Egyptians, and was later popularized by the
Greeks and Romans. Olive oil is rich in vitamin E and antioxidant properties, thus protecting the skin from harmful and damaging
free radicals. It is beneficial in slowing the aging signs such as fine lines and wrinkles. It is also used to help the skin regain its natural oil balance,
and treat minor skin wounds, eczema, and psoriasis. Olive oil absorbs UV radiation and is very efficient
in lowering metabolism rate of the body cells. Olive oil is soothing and healing to all skin types, hence its wide use in
soaps, cosmetics and massage oils. It helps relieve itch, stings and bites, lastly, its an excellent hair tonic, especially
for dry or dandraff prone hair.
Coconut Oil
Coconut oil’s molecules are
small enough to be easily absorbed into skin and hair, so it’s perfect for dry, rough skin and chemically damaged
hair. Coconut oil softens the skin, and protects it against free-radical damage, and promotes healing. Continual use
removes dead skin cells and strengthens underlying connective tissues. It also delays wrinkles, and sagging of skin which normally become prominent with age. Coconut oil is one of the best natural nutrition for hair. It helps in healthy growth of hair
providing a shinny complexion. Regular massage of the head with coconut oil ensures that your scalp is free of dandruff, and
lice. It is an excellent conditioner and helps in the re-growth of damaged air. Coconut oil is a basic ingredient of various body care products such as soaps, lotions,
and creams.
